My phone just died..won't charge or turn on...it's only a yr old iPhone 5

Hey Ann Maria 1606, in most cases the iPhone will not charge due to obstructions within the charging port such as dirt. okay listen get a hair dry turn the iPhone on its back try to heat the battery But don't get to heated up then plug in the charger

If all else fails, take it to your local Apple Store. I've found them to be very helpful, even if it's past warranty.

The same thing happened to me last year around this time and just happened again today. Not acceptable, and not a coincidence.

Condensation,sudden temperature changes or accidental water damage can be an issue with iPhones.

Bring it to a Apple shop who can refer you to an Apple certified repairer or service provider.

My iPhone 5s won’t charge/turn on either and I’ve tried ev
