What is "EEventManager.app", is this an Apple app that is hidden away as I have a pop up window asking me to allow or deny access to incoming network connections??

EEventManager.app is part of a suite of applications that came with my Epson WF-3540 All-in-One printer. I get the pop-up, too, at every start-up, and I cannot find a solution that will stop nagging me about it. The app is listed as "allowable" in the Firewall settings. I did find one piece of information that I thought was useful: that the software may be "unsigned," causing the pop-up to occur even though the Firewall already is allowing connections through it.

So I can tell you what the software is, but I cannot give a solution to this constant annoyance. ;-(

This Event manager window has been bothering me for a long time. I am happy to have it explained in so much detail in the other thread. However, I don't know if I want to go to all the trouble to get rid of of it, so I guess I will just put up with it. But at least now I know where it is coming from. I had no idea before. Such a mystery. I am thankful for being able to google a problem and have the answer. Any one else with this issue, go to the other thread, it is very clearly explained.

Check to see if it is in your Login items - if it is, delete it there as there is absolutely no need for it to run at that time. That would be System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items.

Also, System Preferences > Security & Privacy > check every section and untick if necessary. For instance, I am a privacy advocate and I can't see a need for Epson to gain access to my contacts.

And, System Preferences > Notifications > if you don't want to be notified, make sure to untick everything for an app; that way, it is moved out of Notification center and won't bother you. By default, just about every new app is placed in it.

It's Epson software. I fixed the problem by going to the Epson site, downloading and installing the most current software, manually. Using Software Update from the Apple OS X menu bar updated my Epson software but didn't help. I then went directly to the Epson site and performed the manual download and update of several software items from my printer. Part of the process was to go to System Preferences and deleting the printer from the Printers and Fax preference pane. I think it may be best to do that first, then install the software and add the printer back. There were several options when adding it back. I selected Bonjour. I think there are instructions on the Epson site about this.
