It says to find my library, to look for remote tab in tab bar when in iTunes. There is no such tab.

Where is this tab at?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 7.0.4

Where did you read the reference to "remote tab in tab bar when in iTunes"?

What version of iTunes are you running on your Mac (or PC)?

Fellows I hope this helps. I have two remote libraries, 1 with my macbookpro at home and 1 macpo at the office, both has the same apple ID's and home sharing enabled, I used to connect successfully not until today when i tried to connect my iPad via remote on my macpro, I could only see my macbookpro library from the remote app. So I ticked settings and add iTunes library from remote app and gives me the 4 digit code which no longer applicable in latest version of iTunes. It took me to read all the comments when I decided to just click on again the home sharing in remote app which seems non-sense to do so since i have it both the same apple ID's, anyways I just re-entered my apple ID, finally got it working. Just make sure Remote Home Sharing Settings is ticked green on your iPad.

MacBook Pro Retina running OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks), iTunes 12.01.26, iPhone 5S running iOS 8.0.2

In this version of iTunes, which is currently the most recent (oh how I miss the sidebar), there is no tab bar. I'd never heard of a tab bar. I've been teaching people how to use Macs since OS 4.2. Apple, I love you. You keep it interesting.

Not sure which step(s) made this work for me, but it worked:

1) On the iPhone: Settings, iTunes & App Store, Apple ID: sign out, sign back in, show all Music and Videos

2) On the MacBook: iTunes, File, Home Sharing, turn off, turn on, sign in

3) On the MacBook: iTunes, iTunes Preferences, Sharing tab, check Share my library on my local network, Share entire library (check out the other options on this screen), OK

4) Reboot the phone and the computer.

5) On the iPhone: Remote, and I hope you see your library(ies)

I have a feeling that steps 3 & 4 are the only necessary ones, but what the heck: the solution is (so incredibly often) to turn it off, then turn it back on. When in doubt, reboot.

Hi. I've had this problem off and on between my Mac and an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPad 4. This may seem simplistic, but it solved my problems immediately. As it turned out, my iPhone was connected to a 2nd WiFi connection in my home, and I wasn't even aware of this. In order for the Remote app to work, the mobile device and computer with iTunes must be on the same WiFi network, per iTunes Help. Once I changed my iPhone's WiFi connection, it connected automatically -- no 4-digit code required.

Mac running Mavericks

iOS 8.1 on iPhone 6 Plus

iOS 8.1 on iPad 4
