Lost iCloud email address and password.. Help!

If I forgot my iCloud email address and password, which are different from my Apple ID, is there any way to retrieve it? I've looked everywhere thoughout the discussion boards and cannot find an answer. My phone had reset and is asking me to use only my @iCloud.com ID to restore all of the data and I cannot remember what it is, thus I cannot reactivate my phone. Does anyone know if there is any way to have this email and password sent to a different email? Again this is not my normal Apple ID which I use for iTunes and such, it is my iCloud account. If anyone has any idea how to help me I would greatly appreciate it!!

You can try to find your iCloud ID as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625. If you are able to find it, you can reset the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

Hi Gail,


You seem to know what you are talking about, so I hope you can help. My problem is that I do not know my "icloud" apple id... When I have tried to restore my ipad, it is asking for an "@icloud.com" email and I don't know what that is?


I have tried to follow your instructions, but I am unsure what to change my apple id to in Step 1, because I don't know?

Hi! I need to reset my iPhone 5 too. I have an icloud account and unfortunately I forgot the password.

I tried to open my email and to reset the password but I got an error message like , "email or password is incorrect.''

I don't know what to do then. Do I need t throw my phone and buy a new one? but itsssssss toooo expensive. Please help me resolved my problem. Thanks.

Sorry, but the phone is locked to that other user via Activation Lock:


ACTIVATION LOCK


The only way around it is to contact the previous owner and have them follow the instructions in this article:


Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account - Apple Support


This is the only thing that can be done. If you cannot do that, then see if you can return your phone for a refund. If you cannot do that, then sadly, you are stuck with an unusable device.

hello Gail, You seem to know alot about this type of issues .. so I'm hoping you can help me.

My ipad is locked on the activate page screen where they ask to enter the initial icloud account which i dont recall anything about

I'm using another account that i created later to download apps and such .. if you have any advice at all i would be thankful.

Hi GB, I'm wondering if you can help me.


I recently got my iphone4 fixed but i was informed that the repair would erase all my data. I am now trying to sync my phone with icloud but i have forgotten my icloud email which is separate to my Apple ID (I have 2 apple ID's, can't remember why. I had an ipod once)

I have a similar issue. My cousin was using one of my Aunt's iPads for a while so he restored it and set it up with his iCloud and iTunes and what not. Well yesterday my aunt told me I could have it and so we tried to wipe it out for resetting it up under my account info and apparently my cousin forgot his iCloud/itunes password and when we went to try to reset the password it told him the birthday he was entering wasn't matching their system and he also never received a recovery email in his inbox to reset the password. I then followed some stupid advice and restored the device through iTunes thinking it would fix the problem but now it's in activation lock and I don't know what to do. This is our iPad and it was bought new direct from apple. The iCloud it says it's linked to is my cousin's account but he doesn't have the password.

hey gail,i got something to ask you. i bought an iphone in brazil last year.so when i bought my phone i asked the sales person to do all the configuration he needed because i was going on vacations. last night my phone died while updating and after that the phone wasnt working anymore so my son did something with the phone that brought it back to life.Now it wants an apple id and password that i don't have it,never had it actually because im new to the whole apple thing and didn't know about icloud and all this stuff. what should i do now? call apple support with my receipt so they can make it work again? or do i have another option?

ps : phone is from brazil (has ANATEL logo on the back)

ps2 : it wasnt from a apple store or premium store.

ps3 : im still under apple warranty until September.
