Choppy video playback with Airplay Mirroring

Hello. I just got myself an AppleTV. It seems to work well with the exception of video playback while mirroring from my Mac Mini (mid 2011). The video, for example, while trying to stream basic Hulu from my computer to the TV the video is just a tad bit choppy. While using the ATV with other things, I haven't noticed any other playback problems. Prior to this I was running a HD cable from the mac to the TV and had great playback so I am disappointed witht the choppy playback that I get with ATV. I got the ATV, because I figured it was time we get rid of the tacky look of the HD cable running from one room to the other to the TV. I don't want to have to run an Ethernet cable to the ATV form the router as that would defeat the purpose. Please Help! Here are my specs...

I running a MacMini (mid 2011), 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5; 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3; Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB; OS X 10.9.1 - MAVERICKS

My router is a dualband NetGear WNDR3400.
My modem is a Motorola Surboard SB5101U.

Speedtest.net says my dowload speed is 9.82 Mbps; upload speed is 2.08 mbps; ping is 31 ms (I subscribe to 15 MBps with WOW.)

My router is just one small room away from my ATV. There appears to be 6 other networks going within my reach. I am not really sure what else is relevant so here is the following info: (I don't know how to change channel configurations and Band rates etc. - When I Googled this problem many ppl were discussing changing those things.)

Daniel. If you were here, I would buy you an exceptionally large beverage. This problem has been plaguing me, on and off, for over years. I had spent hours with Apple care and never came to a conclusion. Hitting the Airplay button was a crap shoot every time. Thanks so much!!!!!!

The WMM thing didn't work for me but I turned off Bluetooth and that improved things a lot. Still not perfect but definitely watchable.

Anyone reading this thread should realize that mirroring an internet video is a pretty heavy task. The video comes in from the internet over WiFi, it's formatted for the computer screen, then re-encoded in the special format used for mirroring. It is then sent to the router over WiFi, and on to ATV over WiFi. Depending on the bandwidth of the WiFi channel(s) used, and the capability of the router, this can be quite a lot of traffic.

If instead you use the AirPlay icon within the player (Mac), or normal AirPlay (iOS), the stream identifier is sent to the ATV, which downloads the video directly from the internet, cutting out the middleman. In this mode, playback is the same as for an app on ATV.

I've not looked back since purchasing this app - and no, I don't work for them. I am merely an Apple customer, frustrated that my stuff doesn't work like it should.

Seriously, get Beamer - I've not found a format it doesn't play yet!

AND, you can control it with your Apple Remote!
