Is Unicode Bangla Fonts and Unicode Bangla Keyboards are compatible with Mac OS 10.4.11?

Hi,

Please let me know if those are compatible with my MB.

I also need to know the process or method of removing or uninstalling the bangla fonts and keyboards from the system. Please guide me.

I deleted few files in removing the fonts and keyboard layout, but the Unijoy and Rapali layouts remain in the input source. Is that gonna clash if i reinstall the fonts and keyboard layout again.

After removing the fonts and keyboard layout, I opened the preference pane, then i checked the box from the input menu, then i opened the MS Word to see if the fonts and layouts are removed properly or not, i thought i won't be able to type, but i was wondering that what files i removed.

Actually I was facing trouble in typing the Conjunct bangla words since the installations, conjunct words not working as per the typing guide says. That's why i tried to remove it and install again. Now i am confused.

I look forward to your help.

Following are the system information that i am using now:

Model Name: MacBook

Model Identifier: MacBook2,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB

Memory: 1 GB

Bus Speed: 667 MHz

Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B07

SMC Version: 1.13f3

Look forward to your reply.

Hi Tom,

Another trouble i have been facing, if the font is installed first and the keyboard last or the reverse, the first one is just gone after installing the last one. In fact, the spotlight couldn't find the copy of it except the Dot DMG file, the search includes the installed fonts as well, but no sign of it. I checked the font book, i found it there, validate it, shown alright, but no showing on the spotlight list.

And in International Pane of the Preference Menu, if the language is there, then the keyboard layout is missing, or.

Last time, after installing the font, i couldn't type, then i checked the input menu- keyboard layout is just gone from the list.

Do you know why its happening?

Please let me know.

After installing the OO 4.01, i was able to type, but with lots of trouble, seems the keyboard and font not working properly, or it is not compatible, or the installation is not done by me properly.

I removed the fonts that i downloaded from the ekushey.org

However, i have downloaded another old font from the bangla ankur site- the name of the font is SolaimanLipi-8-Jan-2011.ttf

That is the only bangla font right now installed in my MB.

If the version is the trouble, i will try to install the right one, but i need to pinpoint the cause of this trouble to overcome it.

Thanks again. Have a good day.

I recommend you concentrate on getting TextEdit to work correctly before going on to OpenOffice.

Are you able to select the SolaimanLipi font in Format > Font > Show Fonts?

Here is my machine using Solaimanlipi and Text Edit. Please try to duplicate this on yours, including the input source you see at the top right of the screen and in Keyboard Viewer. Email me a photo of what yours looks like (tom at bluesky dot org).

If you are not able to have fonts and keyboards show properly as you see below, it may be desirable to reinstall your OS.

Hello Tom,

What about the problem i informed to you about the installation- if i install fonts then the installed keyboard is gone, even spotlight cant find it out.

Same thing with the font, if i install the keyboard last then the font is gone like never happened. Currently i have removed the fonts that downloaded from the Ekushey website.

What to do man?

And the letters of TAB Line is not working while typing the conjunct letters using dead key with the other the below lines of letters but other conjunct letters are still ok, i have forwarded the image as you specified.

Please guide me.

Sorry, I cannot duplicate those problems. All I can suggest is that you reinstall your OS.

I don't understand what you are referring to by "letters of the TAB line" or what app is being used.

I have not received any image by email yet.

Hello Tom,

Sorry that i couldn't reply due to personal reasons.

Anyway. i have sent you that email (tom at bluesky dot org).

Please check your spam, and let me know. I will send it again if that mail is not delivered to you.

Tab Line means- the left side of the keyboard there are shift key, caps lock, and tab, each line contains the alphabets. i can't type the conjunct word using the shift line and tab line by pressing the dead key.

All other conjunct words are ok.

I will send you another image of that problem.

Thanks man.
