Forgot restrictions passcode on iPhone or iPad

I used 1234 as recommended by another user. I didn’t recall ever setting a PIN for restrictions and now it seems it was set during an up date. I would suggest before resetting phone try the default 1234. Work for me

Nobody on here, nor Apple, can send you a new restrictions passcode, the code is specific to what you set it to and can only be changed by you remembering it and changing it. You can copy photos and videos from the Camera Roll album off : Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

And copy purchases off : File > Devices > Transfer Purchases

Then either restore to a backup (if it was taken when the restrictions code wasn't on the device), or reset it back to factory defaults

The only way to fix it is to restore the iPhone to remove the restrictions passcode.

If you made a backup after the restrictions were put in place you will not be able to use that backup, as the passcode is contained in it, and will be put back if you use the backup.

You don't need an Apple computer (e.g. friend's, family member's, Apple Store, authorised repairer), to reset a device back to factory defaults using recovery mode you just need a PC or Mac with a high enough version of iTunes on it - recovery mode instructions are half-way down : https://support.apple.com/kb/HT204306

Copy the steps in the following link to restore the iPad and remove the restrictions passcode.

If you have a backup made before the passcode was put in place, you can use that to restore the iPad.

If the backup was made after the passcode was put in place, then you won't be able to use it ans the backup will just put the passcode and restrictions back.

If you mean how to reset the restrictions code you need to remember the current code in order to change it

You cannot see OR edit your restrictions passcode. You MUST erase the device to remove it. And you cannot restore from a backup as the restrictions passcode IS contained in the backup. This would put you in a never ending cycle of disappointment.

While this link says for forgotten passcode, it is the same required action for forgotten Screen Time or Restrictions passcode. And this link is from Apple, not a 3rd party. If you called Apple, this is exactly what they would tell you to do.

Erase your iPhone using your home computer with iTunes and do NOT restore from backup. You will have setup your iPhone as new and download your apps and content manually back to your phone.

If you don't know what your passcode is and you didn't write it down somewhere for easy recall, you cannot find out what it is.

OK.....Still the link provided to you likely won't work on your iPad as the link refers to a new process which released with iPadOS 13.4. Since your iPad is not capable of running that, you will need to use the old method which is to use your home computer to erase your iPad using iTunes and you cannot restore from backup.
