I have just purchased the ColorMunki Design for my graphic design and illustration work, but it won't create a profile on my iMac monitor. IMac is dual core intel. Does anyone else have this problem and perhaps a solution?

I see - and then do the printer profiles further clip areas that the printer can't reproduce?
Yes. Any hue or saturated color that is outside the range of the profile is printed as its near nearest matching color. if you're using relative colorimetric, that is. Perceptual will have a different effect, but is still forcing a non reproducible color into range.
