Jan 15, 2014 1:44 PM in response to Monitoring mamaby mario49,Hello Monitoring mama,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
If you are not receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and verify that you have signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and verify that you have selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
- Follow these steps if you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared.
- Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices. After you have signed out, if you are linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device ones by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
Best of luck,
Mario

Jul 1, 2014 8:02 AM in response to Texas Mac Manby JillMary5,I Set up my daughters, but only receive SOME of her texts. I had both of our phones in hand (iphone 5 for me, & iPhone 5s for her) and turned on cellular, turned off cellular, tried one of our phones with Wifi and one with cellular, and it didn't seem to make a difference. I'd get SOME iMessage copies and not others. I would sometimes even get the first part of a message between her and someone, but not the last part - even though she never even deleted the last part from her phone. It also didn't matter if the message was from another iphone user or not. Some iMessage copies I would get...some not. Hmmmm. Can anyone answer why?
I also sent messages just between our 2 phones, and one time I did not get a copy. I did notice my text was green that time, meaning it was not sent via wifi, but SMS, but still...I received a copy of some of her other SMS messages between her & friends. I have her phone restricted with pass code so she make account changes. the only changes she can make would be to turn off wifi & turn on cellular data, but like I said, I tested that once between our two phones, and I still received a copy ok.
Any thoughts why I'd receive some & not others?

Jul 4, 2014 6:58 AM in response to mario49by Allez Epic,Is there a way to mark an iMessage as "unread" once you have looked at it? This is an issue I have never been able to resolve. I tried setting things up the way you suggested but if I look at something on my device before the child has it displays as read on the child's device and if the child deletes something before I have seen it then it is deleted from my device too.
