Why limiting downloads to 100MB over Cellular Data?

OK guys so I have an actual solution. No weird computer connections or anything of the sort. Just simply press update in the App Store when prompted about the wifi limitation press ok and close App Store then go to app on main screen it should say waiting click on it once then shut your phone off properly with the power button then slide to shut down. After booting phone back on go back to app on main screen app should still say waiting click on it one more time then it will start downloading . DO NOT OPEN APP STORE until the download is done. And you should be good . Hope this helps .

Late post, but i came here to find a solution.

Another way i found was to turn on hotspot from the iphone and do all the updating via itunes through a laptop. The laptop will of course be using the LTE connection on the iphone.

If you need to update the apps, just right click on the app in itunes and select update. Then sync of course.

I have only ever found unlimited 4G LTE while travelling in Croatia, which is why this problem came up for me. Apple more than likely needed to prevent outrage over fees from people not realizing apps are updating, and then couldn't be bothered putting in a toggle switch to turn the limit on/off. But likewise they couldn't be bothered putting the restrictions in when hotspotting, so yay for us (those with a laptop).

Also guys you can try to download by using Ifunbox.

What you need to do is connect your iphone via usb cable to computer

Click ifunbox>apps on search box type the apps you need and then hit enter.

The lists of apps will appear.,show get.

click on get , the apple account will popup>sign in with your apple ID >done!

At least Android has the option to turn off that limitation. I have a Windows Phone too and It has the option to turn off that limitation too. Its not child like limitation that force me yes or yes to have that limitation. I am very capable of handle my data limitation by myself. There are other services that use more data than a simple app download like Netflix and carriers start offer that services with no limitation at no extra cost in the data plan They don't consume your plan. I'm new using IPhone and this is a very negative feature that apple has in their phones. I am an android user for many years and a windows phone user too. If I know about that limitation before I get the phone from my carrier I think two times before I get that.

I think you should sell your iPhone while still new and you can get a good price for it...

No because I have two year contract with a phone secure and I already learn and test two tricks to bypass this limitation. 1. Use the Internet sharing feature with my laptop and download the software with my laptop first. The other one is better: 2. Try to download the app. Wen I see the message click ok no cancel. And turn off the Iphone. After turn on again the app continue to download normal with no problem. Always is better to download directly with no limitation like Google Play or Windows Store. But some its better than none. That limitation its a fools trap. And I don't like anything that limiting my liberty to do something with no solid reason. I have no other option for me than adapt to the consequence of my decision.

It's interesting that because someone doesn't understand a reason they assume there is no reason. It's hard to accept that there are people who are smarter or have more knowledge than you, and made a decision based on that intelligence or knowledge that you don't have, but it comes with maturity.

I just find the idea of "being able to download apps over 100mb over cellular" equaling some sort of fundamental liberty kind of flabbergasting. First world problem.
