Ok so I jus got this iPhone 5s from someone my Apple ID and everything is in on iTunes and App Store but when I try to update any apps it says password for that person account

I brought a iPhone 6s Plus from someone and it is locked with a email address and won’t go past that to activate it if I use iTunes will it reset it to the point I can activate it or is it useless

Activation lock cannot be bypassed.

If you cannot contact the person who's Apple ID was used to lock it, the iPhone will be useless to you.

Return it for a refund if possible.
