Upgrading Late 2008 MacBook Pro Memory?
I have a late 2008 model MacBook Pro & I recently switched out the DDR3 Ram memory slot, the original was 1067 Mhz, the new one was 1066 Mhz is that okay?

Apple doesn't make RAM so I've no idea who "Sodimm Apple" are - if you can't get it to work, return it and get Crucial or OWC. It's guaranteed to work with your Mac.

The scan tool on the crucial website states the maximun memory storage is 4gb.
Let me try something...
You have a LATE 2008, correct? I get an 8GB upgrade kit when I punch that in -> http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=MacBook%20Pro%20%2815-inch%2C% 20Late%202008%29.

MacBook Pro: How to remove or install memory - Support - Apple
Can you upgrade memory on late 2008 macbook or macbook pro from 4GB to 6 or 8GB, With Yosemite 10.10.2 - If so which memory chips did you use Thank you
You can install 8 GB RAM in the late 2008 MBPs and the aluminum Macbook. The non aluminum late 2008 Macbook will accept only 6 GB RAM.
Ciao.
Many thanks - any suggestions for a safe UK supplier for correct RAM memory disc would be great.
4GB on late 2008 mac book with Yosemite 10.10.2 is very slow despite removing everything from Docs, iphoto, and itunes making minimum impact on memory space available. Any advice on purging items accumulated in memory showing in Utilities would be hugely welcome. Thank you.
You can control RAM usage to a degree by keeping a minimum of applications open. If you open Activity Monitor, it will show you what applications are open and running. Close those you do not need. DO NOT close OSX applications, your MBP may suffer as a result.
I would suggest that you visit the Crucial web site and determine the exact compatible RAM that your Mac will require. If you cannot purchase directly from them, check AmazonUK for the identical modules. Crucial is one of the best sources of Mac compatible RAM. I am on the west side of the pond so it is not an issue for me.
Ciao.
