Itunes update failed. MSVCR80.dll is missing

I just updated Itunes on my Windows 7 desktop and now it won't open at all. Error message says Program cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Reinstall the program. I don"t want to lose all of my music. What do I do? Will Apple let me know how to fix?? Very frustrating.

turintest2 if Apple does not pay you anything, they darn well should.

While your posts did not solve my problem I appreciate your help, and I applaud the help you gave others.

I have reverted to an older Itunes after multi attempts.

I waited a fix by Apple to latest version... none came.

My experience with "Help" at Apple was awful.

This is definitely going to affect any future purchases I make.

They do not seem to give a ****.

Nor shall I.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates if you haven't already done so.

After uninstalling iTunes and the related components it is useful to physically delete any files that may remain in the specified locations before attempting to reinstall.

If that still doesn't work you could try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components (put them in the root of C:\) then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). AMDS might not install right now, but you may get a more useful error message as to why not, and you might be able to run iTunes even if you can't update your devices at this stage.

Make sure you download a fresh copy of the installer as it was updated some time after the initial release.

I am unable to successfully "fix" I tunes. I wish I could charge apple $50-$100 for my wasted time. As I run Apple TV etc, iTunes was an integral part of all that functioning, now non functioning, I am not a tech head and am not confident "repairing" my PC. I am very angry about this issue, and can do nothing. Thanks for the bad days apple, like life isn't hard enough.
