Itunes update failed. MSVCR80.dll is missing

Yes, I did all you recommend. When I did the detailed one, I could not delete the Apple Folder because it said it was in use by something else, yet all the other things are gone such as I Tunes, etc. The things in the Apple folder are aplzod6432.dll and shellstream. Can these be deleted individually and safely? Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. Uninstalling and re-installing hasn't worked, neither has using system restore. I can't get past the ADMS. I'm kind of worn out from it all. Hoping Apple will do another upgrade soon, so I can sync my iPad.

Now I'm debating whether to warn family members not to update until the dust settles on this one.

Others have reported success leaving the things that would not delete alone and moving on to the next steps, or you could reboot into safe mode and delete them from there.

I have tried this. I still have "Apple Applications Support " that will not uninstall . It says This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. What do I need to do to get this uninstalled? Thank you for tying to help me.

I just tried this and it seems to have worked.

I removed all the Apple programs, rebooted and reinstalled iTunes. I even uninstalled safari and quicktime for the heck of it.

I just tried it again and it say Old verson of Apple Application support can not be uninstalled contact your technical support group.

Please Help. (Skip to last paragraph for short version of my current problem)

I attempted to update iTunes to 11.1.4 today, and get error messages that my Update had failed. Rebooting gave me popups saying that my apsdaemon.exe program could not be opened because the msvcr80.dll file was missing.

I tried to follow msserver's solution, but was not able to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I tried stopping it in Task Manager, repairing it & rebooting, making sure all mobile devices in the house were shut off, but could not unistall it. I did uninstall Bonjour, Apple Application Support, QuickTime, Apple Software update, iTunes, and Safari. (There were not in the recommended order from tt2 because I had not read down that far yet...) I did not uninstall iCloud & Mobile Me Control Panel because these did not have Uninstall as an available action.

Despite still having AMDS still installed, I rebooted and tried downloading iTunes. I could not find the iTunes64setup.exe file anywhere on my computer. So I went back to work on uninstalling AMDS. I saw one suggestion to reinstall an old version of iTunes. Unfortunately, the newest old version I had was 10.6.4, and I couldn't open it because my .itl Library file had of course been created by a newer version.

So I went back to uninstalling things. This time, I repaired the AMDS program first, then uninstalled programs in the order tt2 suggested, and AMDS did uninstall. I rebooted & tried to download iTunes 11.1.4 again, and it is still nowhere I can find it on my system. Any suggestions? System Restore for anything before I attempted the upgrade gives me an error code.

Firefox? Try another browser. You should end up with a copy of iTunesSetup.exe in your downloads folder. If you're like me and don't tidy up in there often you might find it got saved as something like iTunesSetup (6).exe 😮

Many thanks to everyone offering suggestions to fix this mess. I've tried them all, including system restore from 2 days prior to the software update but nothing works. Wonder if Apple will compensate me for more than 6 hrs lost time trying to work around their disaster (without a resolution). Apple needs to sort this out fast before I consign all my apple products to the trash bin once and for all. Tempted to delete Icloud from my pc but concerned about doing that yet because i've been backing up Itunes and computer to it.😢
