Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)

Remove all of these items in the following order:

  • iTunes
  • Apple Software Update
  • Apple Mobile Device Support
  • Bonjour
  • Apple Application Support

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Had the same error R6034 today after an attempt to upgrade iTunes on a Windows Vista Home Premium system. Also had the same R6034 msg appear when rebooting. System did come up is SAFE MODE without an error. Used System Restore to the restore point prior to the iTune upgrade. So far, everything is OK. System boots cleanly and iTunes ver 11.1.3.8 is working. Next step for me is to back up my library, which I haven't done in awhile

okay i had my computer on automatic updates. i have a dell desktop with windows 7 home. anyway on one of the automatic updates my comp got to 32% and crashed then went to a blue screen then would start over and crash again and start the process all over.. i had to go into safe mode and turn everything off and then do a system restore just to get it to work again.. so i have yet been able to do the windows updates. the one it crashes on is security KB2862330. and i have no idea how to fix it.. so if you know that would be great if you dont thats okay too.. thank you for your help.
