Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Downloaded new iTunes version and got a "msvcr80.dll is missing". Reloading, re-installing, nothing helps. Can someone help me with very, very simple instructions? Otherwise I need to wait for the next update on iTunes. Previous version worked just fine.

Hi there! I have the similiar issue! Tried reinstalling a few times and reboot my system for a couple of times and it doesn't help.
Yes, same issue on my computer. I reinstall MS C++ Redist 2005, 2008, 2010 - it wasn't help.
Go into Programs and Features and uninstall:
iTunes
Apple Application Support
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Reboot. Download a fresh copy of iTunes. Right click on the exe file and select Run as Administrator. Should fix the issue.

After 2 hours, iTunes 11.1.4 installed and running ðŸ˜
This got me back up and running. But Apple has a major issue if so many people have had this happen to them with just an "update"
Same problem. I tried uninstall everything apple and install new itunes and it didn't work.
Tried to install MS Visual C++ 2005 and it didn't work.
Try it like this...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Thank you turingtest2, I didn't notice that uninstall order was important. Now it works. BTW, in the meantime I installed SP1 of windows 7.
I uninstalled in the wrong order and got yet another startup error until I reinstalled. 😊
