msvcr80.dll

Downloaded new iTunes version and got a "msvcr80.dll is missing". Reloading, re-installing, nothing helps. Can someone help me with very, very simple instructions? Otherwise I need to wait for the next update on iTunes. Previous version worked just fine.

Excellent guide, just wanted to thank you !

On the side note, for me uninstall of icloud control panel and delete commonfiles/apple was not necesary on multiple systems within last 9 days.

I also disable antivirus before download of itunes. JMHO.

Thanks for that. I think if everything uninstalls cleanly it isn't an issue, but for those cases when it doesn't including the steps from the outset removes the need for a further round in which they are added later. I didn't bother myself originally. When I came to look at my iTunes install more closely I found a whole bunch of files and folders in iTunes and Common Files\Apple with the form <Name>(2).<Ext> which were renamed copies of original files and folders. I don't know if they were generated by this particular event or have been hanging around for ages from an earlier one.

I followed your guide and deleted all of the apple components you suggested, rebooted and then re installed i tunes. I immediately recieved the following error message. " Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run i tunes. Please uninstall i tunes, then re install i tunes. Error 2 (windows Error 2)" I have since tried several times to delete and re install itunes with no luck!! UGH.... Apple should find a patch for this fix!! Really wish I would not have updated!! Please HELP!! I have been working on this since 1:00 PM today! Not very happy.
