Mac Pro 2013 Random Crashes

I'm getting what seem to be random system crashes/restarts when the system is just sitting there. Apps are running, but I'm away in another room, or something, and here the bong and return to a fresh startup.

The system log from the console doesn't seem to help. I see this right around the reboot:

That looks to me as if a Time Machine backup completed, a little time went by, and the it rebooted. I need to catch another couple of reboots to see if it's the same sequence. It doesn't look like Time Machine did it.

Has anyone seen this? Or better yet, solved it?

Hello everyone,

I seem to be having a similar problem. My new 2013 Mac Pro is shutting down or rebooting after about 15-30 minutes of starting up. I've disabled all sleep options (even tried using pmset in the terminal), and there are no error messages at shutdown time in the console either. Power line works fine for all other computers in the office. The only things connected to the Mac Pro are the apply keyboard/mouse and a TV as monitor through the HDMI port. I've had the same problem with a 24 inch apple display as well.

I've ran the suggested script and this comes out of it:

(It's a new mac, so there's not much on there yet)

Did I give some indication that I didn't know localhost = you[sic]?

I'll cut to the chase: Is there a reason someone would point all of the hosts used by adobe's software licensing mechanisms to localhost other than to subvert those mechanisms?

Feb 25, 2014 11:42 AM in response to Chris Connors

Unless you honestly think that having those hosts file entries is causing machines to to spontaneously restart, they are not relevant to this discussion. I have no such entries in my hosts file, and for that matter, no Adobe software other than the free Flash Player, yet my iMac appears to exhibit the exact same behavior as the OP. Please keep this thread on topic so we can solve the problem.

Thank you

Sir,

I have a Mac Pro with the same issues, seemingly random lockups which result in a forced shutdown. I have run your diagnostic script and have pasted the output here. I don't see anything specifically pointing to the issue, but I admittedly don't know what all the messages mean. Any thoughts on this? The configuration is a Late 13' Mac Pro, Thunderbolt Display, and Logitech wireless (USB) keyboard.
