Jan 23, 2014 10:19 AM in response to Kimmi83by turingtest2,Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Jan 23, 2014 11:01 AM in response to Kimmi83by turingtest2,Press the Windows Logo Key and R at the same time. Type in services.msc and press enter. Locate the service and try to halt it. It seems from elsewhere that if you can't get it to uninstall then just press on with the other components and it all comes out OK in the end.

Jan 23, 2014 10:51 PM in response to turingtest2by kgyork1981,I've been having the same problem. I tried to uninstall iTunes in this way, but it still comes up with the Runtime error when I attempt it.
EDIT: ...and now iTunes is gone like it's been uninstalled. Okay, then; never mind.

Jan 24, 2014 10:27 AM in response to Kimmi83by azmomof3grls,I'm having this same issue, only when I try to unistall itunes, I get the same runtime error and the uninstall process stops. I'm running Windows 7 and I've rebooted several times, but nothing works. VERY frustrated right now! :/

Jan 24, 2014 10:47 AM in response to azmomof3grlsby turingtest2,Try using the slightly more detailed process outlined in HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. If any component fails to uninstall try moving on to the next step anyway.

Jan 24, 2014 10:54 AM in response to turingtest2by rie2,Thanks very much for your help - I could not have fixed my computer without it. Not sure why an update to Itunes caused so many issues. You're the best -
