Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

of course, while iTunes, Bonjour and Application support programs all uninstalled normally, I could not remove eeither SW Update or mobile device support -- threw off errors. Any additional advice? Please? 😁
AMDS seems to like to hang around, but for most doesn't mess with the reinstall. Take the same approach with ASU and keep going with the next item on the list. Try and ignore any errors that pop up. You might get one following the reboot but they should all get resolved after reinstalling.

Your advice was spot on. Thank you so much. I needed the new Springsteen album to motivate me into shoveling the driveway! Big upvote for you.
You're welcome. Crank up the volume! 🙂

Surprised you can't hear it from there. 😝
Hello,
I followed the instructions but have not been successful with the reinstall. On the reinstall I followed the directions to the letter as stated above. Hopefully you can help. If there is not a simple or timely resolution how can I get back to my previous version of iTunes?
Thanks,
Rich
Try using the slightly more detailed process outlined in HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. It may help to use safe mode if you find yourself unable to remove any of the folders recommended in the instructions.

Before checking here I restored to a safe point and iTunes appears to work fine, however, I can not manually download iTunes. Would you recommend going through removal process or wait and see what Apple comes up with, if anything?
It is is working now then I'd be tempted to stay on the current build and wait until there is something you want in the next one. FWIW there has been an interesting suggestion from someone else that the problem may not be the new installer per se, but an issue with the uninstaller that is part of an older component. You may find that if you haven't upgraded this time you will still have to run the deep repair when you do.

Thank you for your advice. It worked.
That did the trick. Thank you. If I may share a 2 tips::
1) If you have software such as PC Clean, after the program uninstals run the registry cleaner. That may help too.
2) Going to the manual delete process some folders were not able to be deleted. I was fortunate to be told what program held the folder. I was able to use Windows Task Manager to shut down the service. I then renamed the folder to something I could remember. Then I did a reboot on my machine and was able to delete the folder. I believe some folders elements are held by Windows until the system is cycled.
I went through this all and it didn't work. Now I get a different error:
Failed to start because iAdCore.dll not found.
And then:
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
What do I do?
I should have replied to you. Here:

OK, I went through all the removal steps again and I even got rid of Apple Mobile Device Support. Reinstalled and I'm back to the original error R6034. It's still not working. Any ideas?
