When solving MSVCR80 issue will I lose my downloads

I also have the missing MSVCR80.dll after a failed update but before following the suggested repair method could anyone tell me if all the cd's that I have downloaded will disappear. I have not purchased from iTunes so I'm not sure if my music is on any database or will there still be backup files in explorer?

I guess you've tried this then.... Using the slightly more detailed process outlined in HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. It may help to use safe mode if you find yourself unable to remove any of the folders recommended in the instructions.

Offhand I don't have any other suggestions, but I'll keep my eyes open for anything else that might help.

Hi Turingtest2, it seems that you have solved most of the issues but, possibly because you can't know what folk are actually doing, it seems to me that iTunes really need to get their act together to sort this issue out as a changed update. I have had 40 contacts through my question alone and there must be other queries bringing out similar replies. I had the update arrive on my laptop tonight and yes it did not work and I got the same MSVCR80 message. I would have thought that the update would have been withdrawn but seemingly it has not. I will never trust an iTunes update again, especially if I have to spend so much time sorting out the problem. TT2, you deserve a massive payout from iTunes and if iTunes is reading this then please get your act together and test further updates before they become a virus.

Unfortunately it did not work for me. This frustrating and Aggravating. I wish apple would just release a fixed update.
