Sorry, did you open the link? There is a set of instructions in the second box that begin with uninstalling the individual components of iTunes.

Have you tried to uninstall the named components in the order suggested?

Which, if any, component won't uninstall right now?

Have you tired the advice to try to repair and then remove?

Have you tried the advice to use the MS Installer Fixit to remove a sticky component?

Have you tried the advice to proceed to the next component?

Have you managed to remove all the components that will remove?

Have you then rebooted the computer?

Have you then removed the named folders?

If you had done all of the above you would have uninstalled iTunes fully. You could then move on to trying to install it again.

believe it or not I have done all of those things some of them more then once.

at this point I have removed, uninstalled, or deleted all of the apple or itunes components/folders that I can remove and restarted my computer, as well as made sure that windows is up to date, nothing that I have tried will make it work and I still get the errors.

I find it hard to believe that apple won't/doesn't make a patch to fix their broken update.

Honestly at this point I am seriously just switching to windows media player and giving up on my itunes and my ipod, I can start listening to music on my phone if I have to I just prefer my ipod.

Hello!
I was wondering if you could help me, please.
After I uninstalled all the iTunes components from my computer (Windows Vista) in the exact same order AND rebooted it, it appeared that the following files still exist

  • C:\Program Files\Bonjour
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple

The thing is, whenever I try to delete them I get prompted: "You need permission to perform this action" (Try Again / Cancel)

Thank you for your time. :-)
