Unknown error occurred while registering for apple developers account

I want to create an IOS account for a Web Design Company Minutes Web Designer but the same error appears.

No need to shout like this ;-) I already signed up for a company membership too, without any problem (under a different Apple ID).

And if you run into the “Unknown error” problem a working solution was already posted here by 5harever. But the fun thing is that the solution only works with Chrome – or at least not with Safari.

I had the same issue, when I selected Government Organisation, I noticed that my browser had auto filled the Address information, once you remove that information go back to company and resubmit it worked for me. Hope that helps, it was doing my head in, until I worked it out.

Have the same problem, i am from China.

Call up Apple Dev Support, something's not filled out properly in your account. Error handling on Apple's site is absolutely awful. I called up dev support and I was walked through what items needed to be resolved and had my registration submitted within 10 minutes.

Just go edit your apple id data on My Apple ID, make one change and save it, then logout / login using your appleID, and all should work normally.

Me, too. New ID and everything. I am in Texas, USA.

This is a vague error and I have tried over a dozen times to not get the generic error.

Problem 1: First I tried to register as a company but my DUNS code was invalid because I have a sole proprietorship.
Solution 1: By enrolling as an individual.

Problem 2: I got the following generic error:

Apple Developer Program

We are unable to process your request

Solution 2: You had to fill in 2 addresses (name, city etc.) and then you had to either fill in another address field (also name, city etc.) OR check the checkbox so you didn't have to fill everything in twice. I tried the checkbox thing first which resulted in the error above. If you uncheck the checkbox and fill in the second set of address information then it will let you continue. This solved it for me.

Note that are apparently a few reasons why you can get this error, but this solved it for me. Good luck!

If you actually go to the developer registration using Chrome and then do Inspect Element. You can change the country value to "text" and then enter United States. Also, change the Text "Select State" to the state you're part of in the United States. I was then able to register.

I entered the phone number with the wrong format. The first box is country code, I entered the area code by mistake. After following the proper format, I was able to register.

I keep getting this same error, looks like Apple really never, ever, ever ever ever pays attention to any problems mentioned in the discussion forums.

I can't change the state, it just says Select State and it's grey'd out so I assume this is the problem.

It is ironic just how many times I've encountered this error during my enrollment process as an individual. There should not be any bugs like this on a developer enrollment site. If you're going to set up a program for developers, the first thing you wanna do is make sure your code doesn't suck. I'm embarrassed for them.

Now I'm getting the error when trying to activate my membership.

But still... it's sad that almost a year has passed and a cruical thing like that is still a problem.
