My iphone is not showing up as a device in itunes when it is plugged into my computer, how do I fix this?

I have tried restarting my computer and my iphone but this didn't help. My phone is connecting to the computer and it is showing up in my computer but it will not show up in itunes. I'm not sure what else to do. Please help.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

If you cannot see your device in iTunes


  1. Open the Device Manager in Windows as follows:
    Windows XP: Click Start > Run. In the resulting dialog type devmgmt.msc and press Return.
    Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start. In the dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click "Continue".
    Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type devmgmt.msc, and press Return.
  2. Expand all the sections labeled below (not all sections may be listed):

    Portable Devices

  3. Right click and select update driver. It should solve the problem.User uploaded file

Hi tried this but it says '

the folder you specified doesnt contain a compatible software driver for your device.If the folder contains a driver ,make sure itis designed to work with your windows 32 bit systems'


usbaapl does seem to be only an .inf file


Any ideas ? Please, it seems to of worked on other peoples but not mine.
