Cannot get mail - the mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. The correct account info is in Mail settings. How do I resolve?

Same problem . I solved this by logging in on safari for my AOL account which said all I needed was to make a new password. After that , update it as well in general settings email tab .

I am not getting gmail and yahoo mail in my I phone, with notice as follows:

"IMAP. gmail.com " is not responding.

Go to the mail setting with correct information.

If you are using cellular network, make sure you allow cellular data for settings
