im trying to back up my mac book and this keeps poping up so what do i do theres a 1tb space i just bought it and its made by toshiba any help thanks in advance

you’ll need to run Disk Utility to format your new Toshiba drive to have the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format.

If or when you reformat the drive it will be erased, so save the data somewhere else before you do.

I know you said the word ERASE at the top, but considering the context of the article is simply "How do I change the format", a little more warning might be advisable.

By far the simplest way to solve this problem:
Go to the Utilities folder and open Disk Utility. Select the Seagate drive and click the Erase icon on the top bar. The disk will be erased and reformatted as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled).
