I was just going through my videos and found that about ten of my videos are not accessible. I believe that just a few weeks ago they were still accessible, though I cannot specifically remembering testing that since late December. Their thumbnails are now gray squares with a small "MOV" in the middle, and when I try to play them the first frame of the video is displayed with the play icon, but a message pops up saying "The requested URL was not found on this server." (The option "OK" is below the message.) When I tap the play icon, nothing happens. I cannot figure out why this would happen as none of my photos or videos are stored on iCloud or Photo Stream, so I don't know why URLs or servers would matter. Also, these were taken on my device so I know it's not an issue with the files not syncing correctly from my computer. Does anyone know how I may be able to salvage these randomly, recently corrupted video files? As a side note, I do not regularly sync my device, so restoring a backup is not an option for me, this would cause bigger problems than ten missing videos, probably.

I know this thread is old but I want to help save those who haven't already wiped their device. The files are still in your phone somewhere (unless like me you were in the middle of a trim operation when it took a crap.) I was able to see the filesystem using third party software that I believe I'm not allowed to mention here. There is hope.. just let god "touch" you. When I browsed around I found the file that the phone couldn't. It's just a pointer to the actual file that gets confused and points in the wrong direction. When looking around with this "touchy" application you will see that there are supporting files for all videos and pictures. Example being, if you have a picture named IMG0005.jpg there will also be supporting files with the same name, different extensions. You need not grab these supporting files, they are the pointers and metadata files regarding your actual file.

Good Luck!

I found my movies! They actually were living somewhere on my computer after doing the fateful backup of my iPhone 5S on iTunes. But the only way they could be found was to make a new Smart Album on my computer. In iPhoto, go to File>New Smart Album. Then select in Match the following condition, from the drop downs: Photo, is, and movie. It will then make an album with every movie on your computer. I hope this helps someone. No thanks again to apple 😟
