5640 drivers and Windows 8.1 ... some hardware issues

have the latest bootcamp drivers installed on my mbp in windows 8.1.

When i put the computer to sleep, then wake ... wifi will not reconnect.

Normally, on the wireless connections pane, directly above the list of wifi connections, the toggle switch says "WIFI". But after waking up from sleep, the toggle switch says "WIFI 2" ... in either instance, the toggle switch is set to on.

anyone know if this is a bug with the bootcamp drivers, windows or something else ? right now I have to pretty much restart to get wifi connected and working in windows.

the second issue I noticed: my keyboard backlighting doesn't come on instantly when the welcome screen comes up. in fact, it doesn't illuminate until i start toggling the dedicated illumination keys. strange behavior.

i've tried reinstalling the driver package from the 5640 zip, still experiencing these problems.

anyone have any info on what these issues might be caused by or anyone experiencing them as well ?

have you downloaded drivers directly from the hardware manufacturers' site and installed in windows 8/8.1 on your mbp ? how does it run ?

I was under the impression that Apple provided the necessary drivers for optimal performance .... but it seems their drivers are buggy, so I might just try looking at Intel's downloads ....

Hi, I bought my macbook pro 15" late 2013 16GB 512GB three week ago and I'm having the same problem with my wifi under Windows 8.1... 😟 I aslo tried installing Windows 7 and the same thing happens every sleep. After closing the lid and puting macbook to sleep wifi adapter changes to "Wi-Fi 2" and not connecting to my network again... Right now I just turned off sleep in windows and I'm using only hibernation. It's the best and only solution for me bacause I'm using virtual switch for WP8 emulator and any other solution would mess up even more. I think this issues totally looks like software problem. No problem under mac so there must something with bootcamp drivers(most probably) or with windows sleep mode like someone mentioned before. I hope with next bootcamp update we can get some patch for that...

Also today I experienced another problem with wifi adapter. At my university I wanted to connect to school network secured with wpa2-entrprise but without luck... I spend 1,5 hour with network admins but even they can't resolve the problem... My only thought is to find some other drivers for wifi adapter in our MacBooks but unfortunately I couldn't find any replacement...

I also asked my friend who has the same macbook to check the windows installation for me and if he is experiencing wifi problems too. He did that and said that he has no problem at all with wifi adapter in his mac... I really hope that this is software problem but if it isn't???

Regards, Zbigniew
