iPhone says iTunes Match is on, but it is not

This worked for me!

My iTunes account was originally saying that the iTunes match was on and I haven't even downloaded it. So after signing out and signing back in on my phone and plugging it back into my computer the settings went back to normal and I was able to sync my music once again. But don't forget to select import all music or it will only keep your apple purchased music.

ive just had the same problem and what you have to do is click the add to button that you'll find when you click on phone device music and from this you drag the music/playlists into the add to section and it downloads it.
