Airplay mirroring broke in 10.9.2

i just updated to 10.9.2 and now when i try and airplay mirror to my Apple TV, it sends the audio but just shows a black screen and i can't drag anything to it. It doesn't show any of the options for external displays in the displays section of System Preferences.

Any ideas? i tried reapplying the combo update with no luck

Ok, I read each and every post of this thread.

Tried all the solutions.

Removed AirParrot from a previous system that I migrated to this one (iMac 27" late 2012, 3.4 Ghz)

Never had iScreen or AirDisplay.

And no joy.

Here my solution:

1. About This Mac -> More Info -> System Report -> Extensions

2. Order by Obtained From.

3. Scroll down to the botton "Not Signed" Extensions

4. Removed the following:

- Accusys6xxxx.ktext

- ComputerAudioCapture.ktext

- EdoviaVirtualDisplay.ktext

- RabbitEars.ktext

- MSMFramebuffer.kext

- MSMVideoDevice.kext

5. Restarted.

Fixed.

I have no clue what most of this extensions are userd for, but now I will watch GoT on my TV, so I really don't care.

Hope it helps 🙂

As many others have said, my solution was to uninstall my Splashtop Streamer program.

It seems as though the culprit is whichever 3rd party streaming app you have installed. For me just deleting the program didn't work. I had to download the installer, reinstall the app, and then run the "uninstaller" program. Then after restarting my problem was fixed.

SOLVED : after several months without AirPlay just got it fixed. People been banging on AirParrot for months and forgetting another app which many of you have installed too. It's called Splashtop. Just uninstalled it and Airplay is back! Hooray ! - To uninstall simply re-download the Splashtop streamer here Download and opening the dmg you will find a uninstall script. Run it, restart your maching and voila!
