After Upgrading to 10.9.2 Isight is not working

I am having the same problem on my Macbook Pro 3.1

Upgraded to 10.9.2 now isight no longer working

as soon as I try to acess the camera VDCassistant processes crashes

VDCassistant from that point on starts a infiniate loop of restarting and instantly crashing untill I shutdown

Check your console logs if its like me its the VDCassistant is crashing over and over again and from what I understant the VDCassistant is for the iSight camera

and searching google someone else reported this bug back in the beta process for 10.9.2

I have the same problem since I updatet my camera does not work.

What can I do?

I've got the same error on my MBP 4.1 (VDCassistant also crashing all the time).

SMC Reset also did not work. Hope that Apple will fix it soon (possible a 10.9.2.1 update)...

I am experiencing identical symptoms using an external (generic UVC) webcam. I've filed a bug with Apple under Radar 16165945.

Me too. Installed the 10.9.2 upgrade, iSight no longer works for FaceTime or for Photo Booth. I then downloaded the Combo Updater and reinstalled from that. Still no iSight. Any more ideas? I should also add that the camera was working as recently as this afternoon when I FaceTimed a friend shortly before I upgraded. Also, I ran the System Report under About this Mac, and for some reason it's not showing a camera. Go figure.

I should also say that I also zapped the PRAM and reset the SMC and neither made any difference.

Frustrating.

Correction, in the System Profiler, looking under USB, the iSight camera is showing up.

I also tried with a different user and that didn't work.

I also used disk utility to repair permissions, and that didn't help.

I'm sorta grasping as straws here.

Yes, but did you reinstall 10.9.2, or did you leave it at 10.9.0 or 10.9.1? That's kind of an important detail.

Same here with a Macbook Pro 3,1. Opening VLC crashes the iSight (for some reason) and loop on CrashReporter.

What's getting me intrigued is why -if you update from 10.9.1 to .2- the system build is 13C64 and the version 10.9.2 from the Mac App Store is 13C60; Maybe this is related to why some people -those who reinstalled the complete system- cams are working and some other, those who updated, no.

I'm backing up and as soon as I reinstall everything again I'll let you now if a clean install solves the problem.

After update to 10.9.2 via AppStore, iSight support disappeared on one machine.

Update same way on another machine still shows camera.

Difference between machines unknown.

iSight is disabled in all applications.

Built-in iSight camera visible as USB device.

Tried all, SMC-Reset, PRAM-Reset, DiskUtility Repair Disk Permissions, Download 10.9.2 Combo and Reinstall.

Nothing helped.

This report cycle below in Console log repeats every second.

Crash logs of VDCAssistant are written constantly.
