Just downloaded the 10.9.2 update on my 2011 MBP and my computer is dead. Just sitting at a blank screen.
Restart and hold down cmd-R. It should boot into Recover. From there, Repair the disk.
If the drive is dead, it may boot into Internet Recovery. That will boot from the Apple servers, but you can do the same things from there.

Looks like that fixed it. Thanks a bunch!
i have the new iMac 27 inch and my update is stuck and it's almost done. it hasn't moved for hours but the blue status bar is still twirling with no progress. what should i do, i don't want to damage my computer by force restarting it but im afraid that's my only option
I have been downloading Maverick 10.9.2 for quite awhile. How long does it take to download and what message do you get when it's ready to install?
i have downloaded it, but the problem is when they told me to restart it, there is a gray background with a box in the middle saying "installing software update" and a status bar that havent moved.since it been 90% done. what your issue with the download
And then the download failed after waiting. Any suggestions?
This is a big pain. Apple should open up AppleCare free support to all to help people deal with this.
I have the same issue... iTunes 11.1.4 has updated has been applied 5 times in the last 30 days. I found a forum that suggested changing the permissions of
zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n00000s0000068
from wheel to _softwareupdate would fix the problem... App Store is now failing to find the update; so I don't know if this made any difference
Issue fixed... changing the permissions caused lots of "ACL found but not expected" errors which may be why it didn't find the osx update. After fixing these ACLr8, osx downloaded and installed fine.
This also addressed the multiple instances of app updates... it turned out these were failed updates. just successfully unpdate iTunes (tunrned out I was still on 11.1.3 despite updating it 7 times this month; now I'm on 11.1.5).
The bottom image is clearly telling you what has been installed in the past thirty days.
Pete
That's what I thought, but when I opened iTunes before installing the same update again, none of the updates on the bottom of the screen had been applied
Hi all, im a new Apple user (2013 MBP Retina) and went to do the update but keeps failing to install because of a corrupted itunes or itunes has been tampered with. No idea what that means???? I am new to Mac's so complete amatuer with this. Latest Itunes appears to have been installed and 10.9.2 several times now! Thanks in advance. Salvatore
Actually managed to resolve this. Installed latest itunes seperatly (not as part of the Maverick Update) and then went back into the updates centre and 10.9.2 successfully installed. Happy days!
