Mac app store updates can't connect to server

Hello all,

I've been struggeling recently with getting updates done in the Mac App Store, roughly since the Mavericks update. Everytime there is a new update available, the Mac App Store can't seem to find it, I get this error everytime I click on the Update tab: An error has occured: Not able to reach Apple server.

I have tried rebooting without extensions, do a fresh install directly from the app store bought Mavericks, and since there is currently the update of OS 10.9.2 available, nothing is popping up in my Mac App Store. I'm still under 10.9.1 with a MacBook Pro mid 2010.

Thanks for all the help.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
