Safari can't load specific websites

HI all,

seems I meet this problem after I upgrade to YOSEMITE, for example some website (www.codeporject.com) can't load completely and some can't load , and I try to solve it by add the auto detect proxy,

you can set the it bye safari->preference->advance->proxy->auto detect proxy.

although, it is still a bit slow I think , but now, it can load the pages completely. my version of sarfari is 8.0 .

I agree, shame on Apple. I have been an apple obsessive for over 10 years and find now that their unreliability and dodgy support does does justify any longer their high prices and they will lose me as a customer. I have the highest spec macbook pro and find the majority of websites since I uploaded Yosemite don't load or load extremely slowly. I also have iPad and iPad Mini, iPhone, iPod in largest size, shuffles. Thats over £3000 worth of stuff......

The Apple behemoth is losing it's way. It used to be great - super fast and reliable and importantly didn't crash. Apple relies on people who relish good design and functionality. If the functionality suffers then their premium place in the market does too.

Time to start start exploring other manufacturers.

1. Empty Caches

Safari > Preference > Advanced

Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".

Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

2. Reset Safari.

Click Safari in the menu bar.

From the drop down select "Reset Safari".

Click "Reset".

3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and all other website data:

Press “Remove All Website Data” button

4. Turn off Extensions if any, and launch Safari.

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

This may help you, it helped me, you have to turn off IPv6 under Network Preferences.

Re: Using Safari 5.1.10 and several web sites won't load. URL bar goes blue part of the way and never finishes loading. This happens when going to apple.com, yahoo.com, google.com BUT I can get to cnn.com, amazon.com, ebay.com and other.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

That post was for a computer version of Safari.

Double click the Home button and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.

I am having the same problem and have tried everything except the instructions in Linc Davis' post -- next on my list, but honestly, shouldn't be necessary. I've noticed that as soon as I load the page in Chrome, Safari is also able to load it. I'm not sure what they changed in the last Safari update or two, but clearly something broke.

I'm having the same issues... took me awhile to get into this post, because (ironically) Apple.com is one of the sites that Safari just will not load for me. Again, I can open these same pages in Chrome or Firefox with zero issues, THEN - after refreshing - I can get it open in Safari.

All of the above suggestions have been tried, as well as others from the various threads I've found in the Communities and elsewhere online.

What's even more interesting is that this exact same problem exists on my iOS devices... Safari won't load the same specific pages on my iPhone 5 or iPad Air (iOS 7), but Chrome or other 3rd party browsers will.

My dad had this problem on his 2007 MacBook Pro(I know. I'm embarrassed for him...) and I was able to fix it by reseting the browser(Safari>Reset and than select all the check boxes) and then clearing the cache(Develop>Clear Cache).

Exactly the same issue after upgrading to Yosemite. rightmove.co.uk will not load in Safari or Firefox and I don't really want to remove all my website history etc. as I will have to set up all those passwords again.

Tried the "proxy" fix but that didn't work for me unfortunately.

Installed Chrome and now that website loads fine.

Bit of a work around - so hopefully the issue will be resolved by Apple.

I am also facing same problem. However, Google chrome opens same URL without any issue on MAC book pro.

I appreciate responses having possible solutions.

However, I do not expect this type of critical issue from apple.

Having the same issue on both my mac and iPhone. Safari randomly refuses load websites and chrome has no issue loading them! Surprisingly, once I load it on chrome, safari can load it. This happens on both iPhone and mac. I have tried everything posted so far!

I still have problem, after reinstall OSX, safari still does not work on these websites: youtube.com and translate.google.com ...

I connected to two different wifi but still doesn't work and also did everything which mentioned in post ... but nothing changed !

is there any solution !?

I'm also having this issue. Posting so people know it's a thing that is happening now. I figure it's a bug from the last OS update. I hate to do it but I'm going to have to use Chrome or Firefox, might even just switch to my Windows machine and use Edge because it has some really amazing features (hoping Apple takes note).

Dominic23's response appears to work for me for a time. Ive completed the process three times in all now. But after a day or so Safari reverts back to not being able to load certain webpages. This is ridiculous. What on earth is going on?

Ive also tried the setting my proxy settings to automatic, but this has had no impact on safari's ability to load webpage.

Getting kind of sick of having to repeat the same steps every other day to load webpages using safari. I even switched to used a windows machine the other day just to get my work done.

Sort it out apple! We're all obviously having the same issue.
