iOS 7.1 Zooming Wallpaper with Perspective Zoom Turned Off

So, I was thrilled to see iOS 7.1 came out this morning because I had heard it would finally bring an end to the parallax wallpaper zoom problem. So, I upgraded and reset the wallpaper on my iPad making sure perspective zoom was turned off. I was sad to see that iOS was now blowing up my wallpaper for no reason. (I.e. All my wallpapers are 2048x2048, yet it is still zooming them by almost double.) I tried move and scale to shrink it, but can't get it to snap into native resolution. Has anyone else seen this or, better yet, have a solution? It is driving me nuts that, no matter what custom wallpaper I feed it at a native resolution, I keep getting a blurry mess! Thanks.

They did make a change to incorporate controls around the "zoom perspective" in the last iOS update, but it sill doesn't work the way it did in iOS 6 to zoom pictures to set for wallpaper. Agree with you, very disappointing.

Apple - this is very bush league stuff coming from you, and it has gone on for way too long. I also have never been able to get any answers from you on my syncing problems that I have posted elsewhere on this forum.

Why can't Apple Geniuses troll these posts and provide helpful responses or follow-up individually? That would be a lot more useful than just having these boards sit out here where I would imagine 90% of posts go unanswered or it's left up to other people to solve problems. That's how AT&T's Uverse boards work - employees will go into the posts and work with people to solve their issues. If an organization that is as overall clueless from top to bottom as AT&T is can make that work, surely Apple can.

Hi There,

i had the same problem but I just fixed it 🙂

you can try this : (silly but worked!)

1. I choose photo with resolution 5760 x 3840 (it's just example. you can use your own image/photo)

2. open photoshop or anything photo editor.

3. change canvas size into 10000 x 7000 (not image size)

4. fill the background with black color

5. save as new photo

6. use this photo to your wallpaper.

7. done! 🙂

now you can get your photo fit with your ipad 2 🙂

nb: Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks,

Rudy
