Issues after iOS 7.1 update

The Location Service icon staying forever at the top of the screen after updates with iPhone 4s and 5s. I couldn't change it using setup.

Anyone can help me to solve this problem, please ??

The Apple Store app only keeps the outlined location symbol in your status bar when Bluetooth is turned on as well. Since these iOS updates ALWAYS seem to turn your Bluetooth back on even when you had it off, it is part of the problem, too. I think it's more to do with the iBeacons now used at the Apple retail stores that sense where you are in the store. If you leave location services on for the Apple Store app, but turn Bluetooth off, the outlines location services icon goes away. It likewise goes off if you turn off just location services for the Apple Store app.

As florapig said apparently the behavior of some application has changed following the recent 7.1 update. If you want to find out which application using location service at the time follow this sequence:

Settings > Privacy > Location Services.

the outlined purple pointer next to application names will show you which application currently using your geofence. If it's not a critical app you can turn its location service off.

mine was fruit ninja which I turned off.

I have issues on the wifi connectivity and the battery lifespan. It seems after the 7.1 update(which only benefited the i5s users), my iPhone5 kept disconnecting from the wifi and my battery can't even last for a day which is a norm before the update. Nonetheless, just a small issue to be added, I'm wondering why did they darken the upper part of the home screen. Does it serve any purpose? It made the phone look like it have some brightness issue. lol. To sum things up, I personally feels that this new update brings more bugs and problems than before. Especially to iPhone 5 user.
P.s. - Just because I did not upgrade to i5S, Apple shouldn't treat me this way. :'( Gave me bugs in new update and not even a new feature for i5 anymore. (i was hoping that there was new features for i5 in this ios7.1 update) 😝

Hahaha. Peace! 😀

It's called geofencing. It allows some apps to run continuously in the background. Turning off Location creates other issues and I do need it on for certain apps I use all the time. I did NOT have the Apple Store app ON in either Location nor Cellular. So it's not the Apple Store app. It very well could be any app requiring the use of GPS. My issue with the 7.1 update is the battery running down in a a matter of hours where it once lasted a full day, sometimes longer.
