Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.1 today. Everything seems to be ok except my GPS is always on. The GPS arrow won't go away from the top right. I've closed all applications and restarted my phone but the arrow remains. Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution?
I had the exact same thing: a very old reminder. As soon as I marked it as done, I was able to turn Reminders back on under Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and voilah! No more GPS arrow!
After 30 mins or so of searching, my culprit GPS app was Glympse. It updated on 19May14 & was a battery drain until now. Changed it under Settings>Privacy>Location Services. Plan on enabling it again when I use it, but off for now!!
Foursquare App -> Settings -> Account Settings -> Privacy Settings -> Uncheck "Allow Foursquare to use my device's background location ..."
I had the problem of Facebook always using location services even while the application was closed. I fixed this by going into the setting within the Facebook app, then opening the location settings and turning off location history. After that Facebook's utilization of iOS location services was back to only running while I had the app open. Hope this is helpful. There may be other settings within other applications mentioned in this thread that have internal settings that could resolve this issue for those apps as well.
With me the problem was the weather application. It was turned to always. I selected never at the GPS icon that was always appearing on top of the screen disappeared
