IOS 7.1 iphone 4S wifi not available .. help..
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1
Looks like a counter punch to those who went with the 4s instead of the 5s.
It seems like a push to buy a newer phone. We'll it pushed me straight into buying an s3 off ebay. I had to call in and get apple to remove my phone from the iMessage server and asked about this problem. According to tech support no one has heard of it. I told her to look on the internet thousands of phone got messed up.
So I'm on the samsung till something else comes out. Hopefully Apple will make this right I love American company's and support them as much as I can but you have to right your wrongs.
I just tried the hairdryer/freezer method. Hairdry near the audio jack for a good 4-5 minutes until the Temperature warning comes up. Turn off the phone, place it in a ziplock bag, put it in the freezer and check on it in 10-15 minutes. My wifi has returned. For how long it'll stay idk. I've read of other people's experiments with this oddball solution and the results could either last a few minutes to as long as months - some claimed their wifi came back to stay. My thanks to whoever came up with this method lol
Wfii issue:
I tired anything and everything... Reseting, turning airplane mode on and off, totally clearing my phone... All that was left was this hairdryer method. I heated it up, no overheating sign came on even though my phone was SUPER hot (I coudlnt hold it). I turned it off and on and wifi starte working!
HAIRDRYING METHOD!!!
I did all the other stuff with no results. But,the trick in your link worked ... THANK YOU!!
When someone from Apple Inc. will pay attention on this problem?????? There are more than 12 pages just on this "Apple Support Comunity".... It is time to do something!!!!
After the most recent update the 'no wifi available' has got my iphone 4S too. In settings under 'choose network' no networks appear at all, despite the fact my Macbook is sitting right there connected to my router and there are about 6 wifi sources within 30yards. It is criminal Apple doing this remotely to peoples very expensive hardware and doing nothiong to sort it out. With any other kind of high end purchase they couldn't get away with it under trading standards law.
~ I held mine close to a lightbulb because I felt the force of dryer may break something internally. It worked perfectly.
I did not put it in the fridge/freezer because the drastic temp change could shatter glass. I powered it off and put it on a cooler surface and let it cool down ... everything worked fine after that. That was 2 days ago ... I hope it lasts. I don't like the 5's slimmer width and am hoping to keep my 4s alive until the next model is released ... it is rumored to be wider. grateful for the tips here ... I love Apple products and hate to think they will become mediocre. BUMMER!~
Same problem as everyone, 7.1.1 no wifi...SOLUTION NOW!!!!!!!
Software reset options (network or all settings) did not work for me, nor have any sequence of upgrades or restores. I just tried the hair dryer trick, however, and it seems to have mostly resolved my issues. Previously, I could occasionally get WiFi working, but it would quickly fail under any kind of load (video streaming or speed testing), and would lock up my phone until it rebooted. After performing the high temperature reset, I was able to run 25 speed tests back-to-back, and watch multiple movies, at least for about an hour. Since then, it's still been working, but I've noticed it drop out frequently under load again. The big difference now is that I only need to toggle WiFi on/off briefly to restore connectivity. I might try the temperature reset one more time if it continues this way, but I'm still in much better shape than I have been prior to finding this thread.
tried the hair dryer trick and it solved my home wifi problems but not my wifi problems at work...it keeps retrying and retrying, and after 3 attempts, my COMPANY login locks out(because it's trying to access my email) !! thanks for THAT, Apple! now I get to either turn off wifi while at work OR call the helpless desk every day to have my account unlocked.
Of course they want to upgrade me to the latest phone. I think I'm going to a galaxy after this mess!
VERY dissatisfied customer. Steve Jobs is spinning right now!
I have the same problem! 😟
What makes me really disappointed with Apple is that, considering that post here already has more than 38694 views and 175 replies, I believe we are talking about a serious error.
The issue is that users are not responsible. And we have no choice - we had to update the iOS to the apps work properly, but after this update we have these problems with WIFI.
I'm outside my country for two months and now, because of this problem with wifi, I can not access the mobile Internet.
I'll wait the positioning of Apple on this subject and also a solution.
Sincerely,
Jackie
Hi,
I was abroad too, when my wifi failed.
The point is, we had to upgrade for an other reason, most of you might have forgotten: iOS 6 had a massive security problem !
Thats the only reason, I did the upgrade.
I told them about the number of messages and complaints! The answer was: "We have more than 300 million Iphones in the market!" - This is the new Apple Inc....
Created an account just to say my 4s just bit it too after the upgrade. Apple you suck ***. I can understand a problem/bug, but i'm seeing no resolution to a bug that began as early as March. I'm seeing no communication or acknowledgment except to upgrade, reset network settings, and buy a new phone. Its time I take my family's business to Samsung.
Im using 4s 32gb. With serial number C8PJ.... On ios 7.1.1
When i upgraded to ios 7.1 from ios 6, i had the same problem. I didnt try the hairdryer trick though. My problem was my wifi didnt recognize the spots i have been when i was still in ios 6. It showed the wifi spot but phone couldnt connect.
This was what i did. I reboot the phone by holding home button And sleep button simultaneously until the screen turns black and shows apple logo. And let go
After reboot, i went to wifi setting and forget the networks. And reconnected again. After that wifi was on
There was no problem when i upgraded from ios 7.1 to 7.1.1
I hope this would help to solve the problem
