IOS 7.1 iphone 4S wifi not available .. help..

same issue here! No luck after restoring from .ipsw and also reset all settings. Have to talk to Apple tech...😢

After restarting my 4S and getting WiFi back, it now is slow to download and often doesn't conect to my network.

My iPad, running the same iOS 7.1, has no trouble connecting and continues the fast download speeds it always has had. This appears to be a fault in the iOS for 4S and I hope that Apple will catch this bug and correct these WiFi issues with a fix soon.

Just talked to Apple tech in a retail store, they said what they can do is to try to restore my iPhone again in one hour, if the same persists after restore, they will conclude (WITHOUT any hardware detection) the wifi hardware module is broken. If that's the case, I need to buy another brand new iPhone to replace it. There is no option to just replace the Wifi module. Big thank to Apple.

Pragasan, do you get the Wifi chip replaced by yourself or by Apple? The retail store guy here says there is no such option...

We have an iFix Store in South Africa it is not affiliated with Apple . I can get just the wifi chip replaced for like 50US$. I didn't get it done yet as I was hoping the new update with fix it.

Just want to share my experience with the same issue in hopes of it being recognized and resolved. Last night, After third restart, wifi was enabled but couldn't locate or connect to my home wifi. Wifi remained not connected all day. I plugged in the phone to sync music with iTunes and move some photos to iphoto, and then when I disconnected from the computer.. wifi is grey and again not available. I tried my standard triple restart and, as I half expected, no luck. Not for nothing, but wifi worked fine up until the moment the 7.1 update was installed. So perhaps there is something I am not understanding, but I don't see why a software update would somehow be able to damage the physical wifi chip. Even if that could be possible, I don't understand why it would be alright for this to be released without a warning to 4s users that the software may damage the physical functions of the device.

Basically, I hope that is not the case and I hope this issue will be addressed.

Got the same problem here, my wifi greyed out when I updated it to iOS 7.0.6 was hoping that 7.1 will fix the problem. I understand the apple want to sell their newer iPhones but I think it's a bit unfair that they will do this such thing. If the update is not intended to 4S then why notify the user with a new update? Or at least they should try to warn that updating 4S might cause some problem specifically the WIFI thingy. It's not fair. I already given up hope that Apple will try to address the problem.

Went to the apple store with iPad Air as it happened to that and they replaced it. The guy mentioned that they had to replace phones as well. Might be your last option. Good luck!

I have the exact same problem with my iPhone 4s. As soon as I updated to iOS 7.1 my wifi was slow/on&off and then soon stopped all together. I've done a restore, elimated almost all apps and reset the settings & several hard restarts. nothing works. Heading to the Apple store tomorrow and hopeing to get a reasonable solution. I'll post an update as to how things go.

You shouldn't have to put a cell phone in a freezer or use a blow drier on it. IT SHOULD WORK PERIOD.

Dude this bug is never going to be fixed. According to my research, it's been over a year. Some people got it on ios 6 some like us didn't get it until now. My mother has a 4s as well, but she's not experiencing it and I ust updated her to 7.1. Not all the insides are the same.

Just updated my daughters 4s and now the wi fi doesnt work !!! Wi Fi button greyed out cant even switch it on ?

tried all re-sets and then found the threads on here , people with the same problem !!!!!!!!!!! What the **** is going on.

Used to like apple products but not now, keep messing around with software.
