Em contato com a Apple, a mesma informou que para a correção deste problema é cobrado o valor de reparo do 4S no valor de R$549.00. Isso é um absurdo, pois trata-se de uma falha criada com a própria atualização da versão 7.1. Vamos procurar nossos direitos perante a justiça.

OMG tell me you aren't serious. There a MANY solutions mentioned in this thread and the one that HAS WORKED FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS is the blow dryer trick. Just blow hot air from a blow dryer into the headphone jack about 2-3 inches away for a tad over 5 mins and wifi comes back on and stays on until ios updates again and just redo the trick. What's so fkn hard? Oh I know, you just felt like responding without reading the thread.

Just got back from local Verizon Store. They knew about the issue!! Seems that iOS 7.1 was really "designed" for the iPhone 5 not the iPhone 4S. Their solution is go back to the old operating system 6. something or just live with it until my upgrade comes in July to upgrade to an iPhone 5 which I am not going to do.... I'll just wait for the iPhone 6 Ugh :-( Learn to live with the lower speeds...

WARNING

Greetings all,

Myself: Iphone 4S (White) running IOS 7.1 - never had any issues with WiFi (through all the IOS upgrade from ios 5x on) - until this morning after the phone for stuck and rebooted.

I followed the hairdreyer trick and just wanted to everybody a heads up:

After aiming the hot air towards to audio jack hole for about 2 minutes (I was moving the hairdreyer around the top of the phone and a little underneath it) I saw what looked like some of the LCD liquid start to run over the top of the display! I stopped immediately and it "seemed to subside/clear/retract back towards the top of the screen. I didn't see any temperature warning.

So please beware: you might not see any "temperature warning" and you could in fact fry your phone.

I'm not sure if IOS7.1 removed that "temperature warning" message, and I'm sure some folks might say the video said "you don't want to melt it - just heat it up" - but it's a fine line, and I would be very careful.

Phone in the fridge at the moment so will give some feedback in about 20 minutes if it did solve the issue (temporarily at least)

EDIT:

The trick seemed to have worked - WiFi back on 🙂 - and LCD in tact.

So just be careful. It's worth saying my phone was heated to such a level that touching it was tricky - so the excessive heat must have "re seated/soldered" any pins - which in my opinion points to hardware. No temp warning, no " hard reset" required, just some heat.
