Meg, You should be help other people, Go to page 2 of this thread and see how you worsen this thread. This thread should be ended in page 2 if you and your friends do not talk something you don't know what it is about. Do you join this forum to help people?

Do you see the little blue dots under my name? Under degree's name? Do you see the point totals? Points are awarded in this forum ONLY by people who believe our answers have been helpful or solved their problems. So, yes, both deggie and I have a very long track record of helping people. You, on the other hand, joined the forum because I annoyed you (which is both the funniest and most pathetic thing I've heard in days). How many people have found your posts helpful in this forum?
If this feature is important to you, you'll need to use a different phone. Sorry.
Yes, all carriers in Europe, and Asia has delivery reports to sms and mms. In Europe it is somehow available from the 90s. Now is 2015. Android support this, Windows Phone too but apple not becouse apple is "innovative".

Sigh.
Submit your feedback to Apple requesting such a feature here:
For people around the world who come to this thread to get answer how to get SMS delivery report or how to enable it, the answer is you CAN'T. This feature not supported in iPhone with iOS 9.0.2. Case closed.
Well, You'd better not argue about this anymore. Truly iPhone is great in comparison to other smartphones but even a great smartphone may has some problems. iPhone does not involve message delivery report which is actually supported by most of other smartphones. Maybe in US no one uses this feature and that's the reason Apple don't care supporting it.
But these facts are definite:
1- iPhone does not support Message Delivery Report
2- Apple is a great smartphone in comparison to other smartphones
3- Message Delivery Report should both be supported by phone and provider to function.
So finally if using this feature is critical for you, switching to android is the best choice.

I think the person to whom you responded stopped "arguing" about this almost 2 years ago.
Yes....but it was so fun reading this. And it is still an issue. However, being telco employ, there is a workaround. Just ask your provider what to place before text. Sometime it is *N#, sometime !, sometime something else

That is not an option for all telcos.
Meg, You are probably right. However in 3 that I have worked before and some 30 that I have been in contact through the EU it is so. Probably not in US. That is I guess based on customers needs and habits.

That is probably so, since SMS receipts were never really an issue in the US for as long as I can remember.

That's why, in an international forum, it's always a good idea to specify region. Like Chris, I'm in the U.S.. It's not a big thing here. I can get a read receipt on my Samsung with a third party messaging app. It works most, though not all of the time. Given that SMS is about the most reliable form of cellular communication a consumer can use, one that will go through when there's not enough signal for a voice call, I figure they go through.
Personally, I find that if I know for certain someone read my text and hasn't answered it, that's almost worse than not knowing. 😉
This feature is only from iPhone to iPhone and not across the different phones. These guys don't know it. I have used so far every kind of cellphone and with all OS.
Well said..
I agree to this and this is the feature iPhone doesn't support

Every kind of cellphone? From every country? And every carrier? And every version of every OS? Wow! When do you have time to do anything else?
