Why is there a Spinning Wheel Most of the Time on my Home Screen After the 7.1 Update?

I have a brand new iPhone 5s with 7.1.2 installed and this has started happening to me as well...very irritating. At first I thought it was trying to update to 8 without my consent ( I want to wait)...but I don't think it's that. I have just deleted Skype because I noticed in the Status app that it was doing something in the background that I had not authorized.

I have usually found that when i see the spinning wheel, if i look in my iTunes store and go to the more on bottom right, i usually have music downloads trying to load onto my phone. Sometimes it could be apps downloading as well. these seem to take a long time depending on how many playlists you have selected to install. Because the music is coming from my icloud it takes quite a while for them to finish installing.

All of those iCloud and iTunes syncing settings are disabled in my phone...all of them from music to app updates..it should not be trying to sync or download anything.

I have this problem on a macbook pro. since I upgraded to yosemite and the latest version of iMovie. I have the sponge wheel. I also got the message that If I close or is it delete iCloud all data will be deleted from my macbook.

What can I do?

If I will only loose the diary, etc from my macbook but not from my iPhone I could go ahead but I cannot loose all that data.

Are you on iOS 7.1 if you are you need to upgrade to ios 8.1 ? Bsydd uk

The problem is with Safari. I switched to using Chrome and the problem does not occur.

i'm pretty sure it has something to do with automatic updates. if you go to settings>iTunes/app store, there's an option for automatic downloads. usually updates is turned on automatically, so try turning it off. see if that helps

It just means your iPhone is syncing with either iTunes or iCloud ... If you download apps on your iPhone or iPad and you set up your devices to synk together....that will cause it also....

Restarting or resetting only delays the process .... so let it ride ... Nothing to worry about... Is all part of Cook's divine plan ... Lol

Yes, resetting the network settings helped me

I am on iPhone 6 Plus 9.3.1 and started getting this today when I turn off cellular data it goes away when I turn cellular data back on it comes back. W hen I go in the cellular data settings and turn all the apps off it's still spinning. I will now attempt to reset the network settings under settings\general\reset\reset network settings.

So I turned off Cellular Data and it went away, as I said before, then I turned on wifi (and I'm home where wifi is available) and it started spinning again. I don't have any sync settings turned on and I don't share with any other devices, so I have to look deeper into what is going on here.
