Touchscreen jumpy since ios 7.1 upgrade

Ever since upgrading to ios 7.1 yesterday my touchscreen is jumpy. Swiping is inconsistent and sometimes the screen jumps around when I touch it. In case this isn't a coincidence, is there something I can try to modify to make it better?

iPhone, None

Dear all, I have found a fix for the charging related scrolling problem, but it can be applied to all problems for testing

My problem was occuring when I was using a 3rd party wall charger. I have fixed this issue! I'm not sure if this is the "case" for everyone.

I am using my iPhone 5S with a plastic case, that covers the sides and the back of the phone. When I remove the case, plug it in to the 3rd party charger the scrolling problem dissappears. This is happening because the wrong/irregular current can now flow through the phone into my hand and continue to any place it can go. Hence the charge does not stay in the phone and doesn't mess up the capacitor.

So my solution is to remove the plastic casing and see if the touch screen capacitor behaves normally. Also always use chargers that are sold or approved by Apple. Besides these, remove any casings covering the entire back and sides whenever you are charging.

I have an iPhone 5, and when I upgraded fro iOS 6 to iOS 7.1, I immediately started having problems with scrolling, typing, and camera features. Basically, it seemed like my phone was possessed. When typing texts, it started to jump around and go to different screens, for instance. When taking videos, it would zoom in and out uncontrollably. Touch-screen functions would stop working, and the only way to get the phone working again was to lock it and unlock it.

I knew that this had to be a SOFTWARE bug-- and not a hardware problem. My phone was working just fine before upgrading to iOS 7.1. This has nothing to do with using 3rd party chargers (which do cause touch screen problems as well).

**POSSIBLE FIX** that seems to be working for me right now: go into Notification Center in Settings, and turn OFF Notifications View and Today View. Also-- go into Control Center in Settings and turn OFF Access on Lock Screen and Access Within Apps.

This seems to be a software bug with Notification Center and Control Center going haywire when you use other apps.

Please let me know if this potential fix is working for you.

I've been having same issues since the 7.1 update and have a Mophie Juice Pack Helium that comes with a USB charger. Very frustrating!

Doing the **POSSIBLE FIX** does seem to reduce but not completely cure the issue. I've still had a couple of times when I've been scrolling to read an article and suddenly a "tweet this" window appears (the tweet button being at the top of the screen and nowhere near where my finger was).

After the 7.1.1 the problem still persists. Changing the charger didn't do it for me. I can't text someone without having to go to standby at least 10 times. I contacted the apple support but unfortunately i'm out of warranty and they don't have any information regartding this problem. Has anyone contacted apple aswell to get them going on the problem?

This is kind of annoying being left alone with a software related issue that renders a perfectly fine device completly useless.

Iphone 4s here. iOS 7.1.1

I am experiencing the same issues as well. I bought this used phone recently, and i noticed that yesterday, it's not preventing me to write a text message, but it is annoying when scrolling and it gets jumpy. I was afraid i've got malfunctioning phone. Then I googled, and found that i'm not the only one here. Apple please fix this.

I have this exact same issue and also did not start until after the last update. I use my phone a lot because I am a small business owner and I use it to talk to my customers and My workers, it's almost unusable at this point. I have been thinking about buying an entirely different brand phone. It is so frustrating I cannot use that phone when it is jumping and not scrolling it's just ridiculous

any viable fixes out there?

I've been having the same jumpy problem. Today I discovered it was happening when my iPhone 5 was plugged into the power supply. I unplugged it and the problem went away. I unplugged my aftermarket power supply and plugged the iPhone back into an apple power block and the problem did not come back.

I feel like I've seen this before when iPhone was not plugged in, but can't say for sure. Powering the iPhone off and back on seems to help.

Yesteday i went to Apple Store in Boca Raton, FL to bring my Iphone 5S

it was freezing in the dialing screen at the Phone app (the core functionality of an iPhone!)

then to answer calls or make them took 30 seconds or more

I was entertained by these strange types who put working there, some tucked the hipsters and funky! who believe it is a great pleasure to spend hours of your day this crap store.

I have the devices by simply need to work, and I think an exercise in futility and uselessness spend the day smoothing this crap devices

After hours and very nervous, I exchange the unit for a new one! Lost my informations, photos, videos, contacts and SMS messages of 3 years on my clients, business and important information including, for use in court

I deliver a device of crap that has the problem on the screen, scrolling, navigation and etc.

Apple ha long ceased to be a competent company! The new IOS *****, the service is lousy in stores.

The Ideal is to take the case to courts, and make the company pay for damages caused
