Found locked iPad

You could have turned it over to the management of that rink or park where the rink is. THe serial number is on the back. YOu could run a found ad, requesting that the owner gives you that serial number to prove it's theirs.

There are ways to try and find the owner beyond trying to unlock it to get access to it.

I'd say that Apple would have a better chance of returning it than the police, they can track the serial number, see who bought it and from where. The police would only be lucky if the user had registered it with one of those central property databases and tagged it with invisible ink!

Just keep it plugged in, maybe take it to a mall where there's lots of public wifi. The user may have been there in the past, and if it can autojoin - they'll hopefully get a Find my iPhone notification.

Yah..it's on wifi at home right now. It'll be just waiting for a find my ipad message. But other than that..nothing else I can do.

How did you manage to connect it to your home wifi if it's locked?

I think ASCarlisle has a great idea - I lost my iPad about 3 years ago and put ads on Craigslist and reported to the Police and put up fliers and never got it back. If someone had done what ASCarlisle has suggested I would have gotten a notice when it popped up on the Internet as I had the "Find my iPad" feature enabled, but nothing ever happened.

I would also add to ASC's suggestion to try the nearest library if they have a free WiFi or a nearby coffee shop where it was lost - maybe the skating rink has a WiFi the original user was using it on?

The wifi connection option is before the user ID and password input.

I'll post on Craigslist in my area requesting owner to put a find my ipad message or provide me with serial#. It's useless for me to keep it. .it's just a paper weight. However i also don't have a lot of time to try to find the owner but I'll try to make myself as visible as I can.

Ok, so you found the iPad (it happens). When you connect to your Wi-Fi can't the local Police find you? Cant the original owner track the Wi-Fi account? Who it belongs to? Address etc. etc. These are serious questions you must ask yourself? But seriously with Law Enforcement spread so thin within our Society do they have time for this crap?

I found a way to crack the apple id. i consulted a witch doctor and he helped get the user and password of the locked ipad. Only in Africa
