When will the iPod Touch 6th generation be released?

No one here would know the answer to of your question. Apple specifically forbid speculation about announcements of unannounced products. Anyone who gives you an answer, either here or anywhere else, is simply guessing.

Why should their guess be any better than yours?

Every iPod Touch model has been released in the fall so if you go by history you are looking at Fall 2014. But no one knows for sure.

Here the question to ask yourself... Is this a want or a need? I'm guessing a want. If this where a need you would have already purchased an iPod 5. Since it's a want, why not put the money in the bank until your iPod 4 craps out OR the next model is released. Of course that may not happen until your next birthday... That's the trouble with waiting for the big "what if", and remember as soon as you buy it, it's last years model because the replacements replacement is already being worked on. Just something to think about, Cheers.

No one knows when the next iPod Touch comes out. However, if there is one this year, it should be release in Sep.

And if there is one, it should have the same screen size as new iPhone that to be released this year.

Why worry the next ipod touch 6 will probably be sold without a retina screen a common apple game then later wow a retina.

Nobody knows when the iPod touch 6th generation is coming out. My best guess is this fall because according to the history, every iPod touch model was released in fall. I am like u too, I want an iPod 5 but I want to know when the 6th generation is coming out so I can get it.

Every ipod has always been realesed in the fall. Also they also come out withan Iphone that doesnt have an s.

It also might be a compact idea. But awnser this: would you rather buy an ipod 5 or wait for an ipod 6

JEM24, This is by far the best answer I have read to similar questions across a wide platform of electronics. I still use my second generation iPod on a daily basis. (It was recently mistaken for a pack of cigerates by someone who saw it in my hand.) Wish more people would follow your advice!

Just an FYI, I just got back from Best Buy, I wanted to buy me a iPod Touch 5g 64 and they were out only had 16s and 32s. I asked my friend if she could locate one in any other store and it turns out the 64GB iPod Touch 5g IS OUT OF THE SYSTEM, no Best Buy store is carrying it as of this writing. I was going to settle for the 32GB and she told me to wait because this is a symptom that something new is coming down the road. So I'll wait until Apple releases the new hardware. I'll have to continue to deal with my trusty old nano 3rd gen, which is giving up little by little.

Well, you just had to wait for the announcement. As of now, anyone cannot say or decide whether when it will be released. The problem lies with the internal components that will be placed on the new model.
