Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
On an iPhone 5, I've upgraded to iOS7.1 and now the Volume Down button has ceased to function. Button does not feel wonky or has the phone beed dropped or abused. The Volume Up button works fine; the Volume Down button worked fine before the upgrade. Anyone else?

BTW, in my previous post it should be read "The volume-down bottom doesn't work in any app". I couldn't edit my reply after 15 mins...
Finally, the Mac Store Premium Retailer replaced my iPhone 5 with a brand new at no cost.
They said it was a mechanical failure, nothing related to the upgrade to IOS 7.1.
The new iPhone runs on IOS 7.1 and the both volume bottoms work well.

Relative NB here, have a 5 on latest OS (7.1). Initial condition was I'd get a (purchased) ringtone for an incoming call, but the set ringtone for an incoming text msg would NOT 'ring' (std stattaco setting). But neither the up nor the down volume buttons were working either. I could set any ringtone for incoming calls and it'd 'ring' during changing the setting. For incoming texts, setting ANY sound would not cause the corresponding sound to run (i.e., while changing, it'd normally sound). I powered off n back on. Volume buttons then worked fine. And the text sounds came back on. Sounds like a SW bug somewhere. Tried setting several options (e.g. Do Not Disturb off then back on to it's normal (for me) setting, etc. All to no avail. Hence the power off n on.
I had the same issue after updating to 7.1.1 and got really frustrated. My volume would only go up and wouldn't go down. I tried resetting and nothing was fixed. Finally, I did this: I held the up AND down volume buttons together at the same time for 5 seconds and the low volume button started working again!! Hopefully this fixes for you.
