iOS 7.1 lock screen freeze issue

If you can, back up or copy all your phones photos, files etc. to your computer. Then use iTunes on your computer to Restore the software on your phone. Here's a link to describe that:

If the restore does not solve the problem have a technician examine your phone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I'm experiencing the same exact freezing problem. Immediately after I updated to iOS 7.1

The same happen yesterday on my iPad 2 and today on iPhone 5S. Must be a bug and I hope Aple will fix it in a 7.1.1

The only way to unfreeze is to restart the phone.

The same issue happen sometimes on my iphone 5c. i discover today that it's often when it's plug in on the home charger. But the 7.1 update didn't solve this issue ...

Same happed on my iPad mini. I don't have the iPad mini password protected and a reboot lets you in but so does this: Go to the camera app from the lock screen. I don't know if you need to take a photo but I did and deleted it along with an additional photo I didn't want any longer. After I quit the camera app, my iPad was unlocked and working normally... so far.

I have the same freezing problem after upgraing to IOS 7.1 when using Safari, the touch screen would become non-responsive. I have to reboot my iphone 5

I am having the same exact porblem in my iPhone 5. even having a problem in the messages keyboard.

Lockscreen has frozen on me twice in past 24 hours. The first time was at airport security, trying to get my boarding pass via Passbook. All these lookups are reminding me of Blackberry! Apple, any advice?

I can access and unlock the screen by double tapping on each number, but once I am on the home screen I cannot scroll to another page or scroll up or down once I am in Settings, Messages, etc.

I seem to have a white or black box, depending on the background colour, that surrounds whichever app I am attempting to use/open. That is what I cannot remove and isn't allowing me to access anything or scroll through.

And turning the phone on and off (as it is also an extreme challenge to do so) is not helping either.

So after speaking with online support and restoring my phone, the issue continued with the black/white box. However, we resolved the issue by triple clicking on the Home button. To test this, I triple clicked on the Home button and it brought the little box back, but triple clicking again stopped it and had full use of the phone again.

same here. freezing is just too annoying for me and much worse than your case. it gets stuck soon after I press sleep/wake button or unlock screen. and stays static for about a min or so 😟 even made me miss few calls as got frozen after I press answer button 😟 help!

I've catched this on ios 7.1 released. I have not faced this issue before. On pin screen everything freezes. If you turn the screen off, then on, slide to unlock doesn't work at all. Only device reboot helps :(

I am having this now on my iPad Air with iOS 7.1 (though not on my iPhone 5S). If I wait long enough it will ultimately respond. Doing a hard reset starts it up again when I am impatient, but it doens't prevent the problem. The iPad randomly freezes when it has been sitting around locked for some time (probably greater than 15 minutes).

FYI: With 7.0 both my iPhone and iPad crashed constantly. iOS 7.1 fixed that on my iPhone, and reduced crashes on my iPad (but not completely). More bugs for Apple to fix.
