There are several "uncommon" items in the list.

You are having Page-outs more than 1.5 GB, that is a bit more than I should expect with your machine and applications, even in Lion, on 4 days. Also the Webprocess is taking too much from the resources.

We are going to clean up your system, and probably your problem is gone too.

1. Uninstall Kiesagent: this is a crapware app that is spewing logfiles all over the place continuously (for connection of a Samsung phone to the Mac), it does not do anything for you, and and is is scr... up your system.

2. Unless you have a modem of the Huawei brand, get rid of the StartOuc process:

Go to the Startdisk(junior) /Library / StartUpItems / folder:

delete everything with the name StartOuc, HWNetMgr, HWPortDetect:

instead of the marketed advantage to speed up your mac, it F... up your system.

3. WifiStartup Utility. Unless you really need it (for example you have a WiFi stick to go over the mobile network), uninstall that app. Do not forget to get rid of it before you ever upgrade to Mavericks (which is 10 times as good as Lion).

4. Uninstall Fuspredownloader, very counterproductive.

5. I do not know what GRproofing is (Applet in SystemPreferences), uninstall it for the time being.

6. Go to Startdisk(junior) /Library / InternetPlugins / folder:

delete the 2 AdobedePDFViewer plugins: superfluous.

7. Then in Safari Preferences:

you have to delete the crappy MyPermissionsCleaner extension !

I also strongly advise to delete the facebook cleaner extension.

And also the WOT extension, a good idea but eats and eats resources.

------pffff,

now a restart.

run a new etrecheck list.

1.if i unistall Kies, how will i connect my samsung phone with my mac?

2. I used to have a Huawei modem but I dont use it any more. Got rid of it

3. same as 2

4. I cant find where to unistall it from 😊

5. I dont know whwt it is either, but GR is about greek. I think it was to do with language settings (?)

6. ok

7. ok

Mar 21, 2014 11:56 AM in response to fotisB

1. AFAIK Kies is not necessary to connect the Samsung Phone, but you have a manual I suppose. I can not simulate that.

2. Good.

3. Good.

4. a. Instead do this: go to SystemPreferences, choose the Users&Accounts Applet, click the LoginItems tab:

with the minus sign underneath remove the two Kies entries, remove the Fuspreownloader. This does not uninstall anything but at least these will not startup after start and thus keep running always.

4. b. Now in Finder go to the applications folder, and make a screenshot of the whole page, post it here, the same for the Utilities folder.

5. I know already that it has to do with greek, probably some third party spelling helper or something like that. Uninstall it, when you miss it, you can always reinstall after we have eliminated your issues.

6. and 7. Good.

Restart, empty Trash bin.

make an etrecheck list, post it with the screen shots.

Must be much better now.

OK, here we go:

1. Kies is still in the Applications folder, make a directory somewhere that you can not find anymore after a few days, and move Kies to that directory.

2. You said you do not have the USB wireless stick anymore, so you can uninstall the RalinkWirelessUtitilty.

3. I am not familiar with BubbleExplode and all the greek apps in the Applications folder, uninstall everything you do not use.

4. You have about everything that is available for text and office, maybe you should make a choice: for example PDF: AcrobatX, PDF-to-Word, MS Office, PDF Toolkit, LibreOffice.

5. Same for drawing: AutoCad, AutoDesk, SketchPad, SketchUp, SolidWorkseDrawings, ProgeCadViewer.

6. Be careful with Vuze: these torrent apps have to remotely display a lot about you (IP-address and so on) to be in able to get the torrents downloaded.

7. In my opinion you can uninstall simple text, because the standard TextEdit can do everything.

8. Uninstall WinzipMac, and later on download The-Unarchiver from the AppStore: this can unarchive all the unusual "zip" formats.

9. I have no experience with Viber.

10. CleanMyDrive: a macpaw software in the league of CleanMyMac: crapware that can destroy your computer. Uninstall it, I give you no choice here!

11. I have no experience with Gemini (sound app?) and the DJ app.

12. you can just delete two upnp files in your Applications folder.

13. Then the greek applications: no idea, you have to translate or you can make a choice what you can not miss: but be sure that everything that "keep", "boost", "optimize", "clean", "guard", and so on is uninstalled.

-----

1. 8. and 10. are important.

Since you have Vuze: uninstall everything that has no official license, if any.

In general when you ever download software, to try or to use, fron socalled "collections" sites, like CNet, Download, Softonic and so on, but only from the developer sites. These sites CNet Softonic ... build in trackers and other malware. Read the very interesting site TheSafeMac.com where you also can find how to uninstall some very bad softwares.

----

When everything is clean and mean, and proved issue-less in a month or so, consider upgrading (free) to Mavericks. It is the best and is very efficient in Ram handling.

From the OSX versions, SL is very good, MountainLion is very goos, and Mavericks is by far the best.

Have fun,

Lex

2. is for an external antenna , but I removed it

3. Bubble is a game, I play it

4. I deleted some of them, I will delete more

5. same as 4

7. ok

8. ok

9. I use viber from my phone, deleted

10. ok

11. Gemini finds dublicate files, I find it usefull. Dj deleted

12. ok

13. the greek apps , are systems apps. can't delete them

1. About Kies. how can I backup my samsung otherwise? any idea?

6. I use Vuze only at one greek site (music, movies, etc). Is this a problem?

Mar 22, 2014 2:23 AM in response to fotisB

1. I don't know. Maybe a search on a Samsung site/forum.

6. Never download apps with it. The rest is your choice, read about what I said about your privacy. In some countries they trace you when downloading music and movies form torrent sites. Whenyou use it do not use it on greek sites.

Lex

Are a bit satisfied with the cleaning? and does the mac behave better now.

🙂
