iOS 7.1 update bring carrier unstable "Searching..."

Hi,

After upgrade iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 my carrier signal becomes unstable after every 30 sec it starts to searching it. Battery also affected as I am not able to use it for more than 6 hours. Before it was fine on 7.0.4 but later without upgrade my signal becomes unstable yes without upgrade my signal becomes unstable. then I thought to upgrade it so it will resolves the issue, but who knows the situation got worsed. My battery drains from 100% to 10% in 6 hours (maximum). My carrier signal is fluctuating in one minute it changes it three states

1. Searching

2. No service

3. Vodafone IN ( means it got signal full 5 star )

4. but soon after 10 sec again gone

Please do a fix for this as I am not able to use my phone it is lying in my drawer.

Hi,

i had the same issue with my Iphone 5S when i updated to ios 7.1.1. the signals were unstable and was going to No service after every minute. in addition to that. the battery was draining out withing 4 hours.

i restored my phone many times but that didnt help. at last i found the solution.

the issue was with my SIM card. when used other network sim, i found no issue with my phone. so i just requested new from my network provider and got it working fine.

1- remove your sim

2- reset network settings

3- use other network sim and check.

I hope this will help.

This had just happened to me this afternoon! Mid text with full signal & 3G my iPhone 5s suddenly went to 'searching' and won't come out! I am with O2 based in Birmingham. O2 online guru couldn't help as I have also lost 'carrier' icon in settings! 3G won't go back on so all I can do is iMessage or Whatsapp when hooked to wifi. Battery has been draining really quickly last couple of days. All updates are upto date & phone only 1 year old. So frustrating. It just went! Suggestions gratefully received. No consolation it's happening to others! Need it fixed!

Had the same problem. Updated to 7.1.1 and my iPhone kept "Searching" for my carrier. Battery was draining!

So I did the following:

- Hard reset

- Reset Network Settings

- Set up as a new iPhone and synced from previous back up (2-3 days earlier)

- Used a different SIM card (found out my SIM worked in another iPhone, but my friend's SIM card didn't work on mine)

- Reset Network Settings with different SIM card

But none of that worked, ugh. 3 days of no signal was driving me nuts.

I went to Apple and they reinstalled the software and it came out as a new iPhone (completely wiped everything) AND IT WORKED!!!! Connected to my carrier no problem. Found LTE signal and everything. They said the 7.1.1 version on my phone was corrupt.

They told me I can't use a previous sync because it will most likely have the corrupted software. Boo. Luckily I transferred all my pictures to my Macbook and iCloud had all my Contacts.

Try that out. I don't know if setting up your iPhone as a "new" iPhone is the same as reinstalling the software (should be though eh?) like what they did at the Apple Store... because if it is, just do it at home and save yourself the trouble of visiting the Genius Bar.

Let me know if that works out for you. Just remember to transfer all your pics to your laptop!
