download SD version of HD movie

Ever since ios 7.1 on my ipad (4th gen), I can no longer download SD versions of movies I've purchased in itunes. Before ios 7.1, you could search for the movie you purchased, tap the SD button next to the HD button which would be highlighted by default, and then you would be presented with a DOWNLOAD button. Now, I am presented with a WATCH button that takes me to my "Purchased" list of movies. In there, there is no longer any option to select SD. I can only download an HD version. Does anyone know how to do this on an ipad since ios 7.1 has changed it?

I found a way to download SD on your iPad without a desktop machine. But it is a pain in the you know what.

1. Sign out of you iTunes account on your iPad

2. Search for the movie

3. Select SD version

4. Click Buy Movie (you won't be recharged)

5. Sign in with account that originally purchased the movie

6. You will be asked if you want to download the movie, Select Download

7. Movie will download in SD

I have a way to solve this issue! Buy an iPad 1. I still have two old ones for my daughters but just got a newer one for them too. That is when I noticed the inability to download the SD version of movies I own directly to the newer iPad. I remember being given the option on the iPad 1 via a pop up dialog box to download the movie in SD OR HD. Voila, it's still there...but for some reason they've removed this feature on newer iPads (iOS). So to solve this issue, get your hands on the first iPad ever made and stop jumping through the new apple hoops. :) Or, sync your newer ipad with your desktop/itunes...if you want to take a couple steps back.
